Caregiver Voucher Program:
Services are available for eligible clients or other eligible participant aged 60 and over: The Caregiver’s (Alzheimer’s) Voucher Program is a program designed to help family members or caregivers/providers as they provide homecare for an elderly individual. It consists of a variety of services made available to the caregiver/provider to assist with rendering the best care for our loved one. Through an assessment process needs, choices and services will be considered. As the caregiver/provider, you will be able to make recommendations that work best for you. Caregivers/providers will receive a list of service providers who have been approved to participate in the program, and you will decide how and by whom the needs should be met and how to monitor the quality of services you use.
Congregate Meals:
Meals are provided to eligible clients or other eligible participant aged 60 and over at one of four senior centers. All meal complies with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (published by the Secretaries of the Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Department of Agriculture. If one meal is served, a minimum of 33 and 1/3 percent of the current daily Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) as established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences is provided.
Homebound Meals:
Meals are provided to eligible clients or other eligible participant aged 60 and over at the client’s place of residence. Clients must meet eligibly criteria to receive homebound meals. Meals complies with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (published by the Secretaries of the Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Department of Agriculture. If one meal is served, a minimum of 33 and 1/3 percent of the current daily Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) as established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences is provided.
Legal Assistance - Provision of legal advice, counseling and representation by an attorney or other person acting under the supervision of an attorney are provided to eligible clients.
Medical Alert - Providing Emergency Response Systems (ERS) to older persons.
Material Aid - Issuing assistive devices and other goods, e.g., Walkers, wheelchairs, fans, commodities, personal hygiene items.
Title V Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP):
The agency assist in providing meaningful community service employment and training to low income senior citizens age 55 and over in non-profit organizations in accordance with guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Wellness Programs:
The agency provides activities designed to provide services which will support and/or improve the older persons mental and/or physical wellbeing, e.g., exercise/physical fitness, health screening. Provisions are for eligible client or other eligible participant aged 60 and over registered at the senior center. Through funds made available through CAUW, the agency also provides transportation to local fitness centers for registered seniors. Funded by GOEA and St James Government.
