Warnings are announced by the National Weather Service on local cable television and radio stations and/or the telephone call-down system. St. James Parish Emergency Preparedness will provide sheltering to residents in need during an emergency.

Volunteer Fire Departments
The Public Safety and Fire Protection Funds were established to aid the Parish's four volunteer fire departments and to pay a portion of the expense to provide emergency medical services to the Parish.
